Am I doing the right thing?

Yes--moving to a place where people don't yell at her and try to make her stop.

Maybe in a flock of people, but I've never seen evidence of chickens reacting that way. If we're going to assume that chickens think like people--maybe they're tired of the noise too, and would also like a break!
It's irony. Satire. Not meant to be literal.

Just my measly two cents. If you are even considering rehoming her, I would. I personally feel as though my chickens are important contributors to my lifestyle. If you are thinking about getting rid of a hen for being noisy, I think perhaps our philosophies differ. A new owner might appreciate her more. My chickens are far more important to me than my neighbors' opinions (that's how I ended up with a house rooster- but an actual ordinance forced that on me). However, everyone has their own philosophies, and I am a poor and inadequate judge.

Where are you located? I will take her. I'm moving in a few weeks to a place with an acre and a half and spoil my chickens with lots of space and great food. I'm in Northern California.

And, yes, I am moving so my flock, including my rooster, can be as noisy as it wants.

I hear my chickens most all day long, they are quiet at night, so no one should complain. If your are real anxious over her noise, it is not good on you, so if you have a good home, rehome her. It will relieve your stress, but it is good for her to go with another one so she isn't the lone girl or bottom of a new flock to get pecked on. Good luck.
