My favorite hen started disappearing a couple of weeks ago. I didn't really pay much attention as I was just glad she was leaving my new sex link pullets alone. But when I started seeing her every couple of days, I figured she must have made a nest outside the coop. Yesterday I found her dead ( I suspect the huge coyote my husband saw in the pasture). And when I followed the trail of feathers it led me to a nest with 11 eggs in it. 5 or 6 of them are still viable. So I put three in my mini brinsea, and then two definites and one questionable in a box under a heat lamp with seran wrap and a cup of water. The embryos are moving inside the egg, etc. One egg is moving independently (wiggling the egg around). How far along are they? I am afraid to move them too much (candling, etc.) and mess up the hatching.
Thanks,
Bekah
P.S.
I have raised the temp in the box to around 99 degrees, and have also put some damp paper towels in to help keep it humid.
