CA, always with my chickens!
Sooo. I have a 2 moth old pullet and roo. I'm feeding them layer feed. I heard your suppose to feed them grower feed until a pullet lays her first egg. Is this true? And is this okay for feeding them. I don't think the store had grower feed. ( my feed in non medicated!)

Your 2 month old birds should be eating grower feed not a layer feed as layer feed contains calcium that can permanently damage their kidneys, cause kidney stones, reduce lifetime egg production, and shorten their lifespans. Layer feed should not be fed to your birds until they reach 18 weeks of age, or until your pullets begin laying (whichever comes first). There is a good article at http://www.the-chicken-chick.com/2012/11/feeding-chickens-at-different-ages.html on feeding chickens at different ages.
