Am I Hurting my Chicken?

Hello fellow chicken enthusiasts!! I was trying to see a certain feather under one of my Maran hen's wings so I picked her up and I tried extending her wing out by pulling it out. I didn't yank it to where it would obviously hurt her...I just slowly extended it in the direction and order that she would. She didn't really like this though and yanked her wing back to her side. Does it hurt/bother my hen when I do this or is she just being stubborn?

It just annoys her. They don't really like their wings being moved around

Yeah, my chickens do that too. You are not hurting her, she just does not like to have her wings bothered.
