Hello there and welcome to BYC!

Sounds like you need MORE chickens if you ask me!! Great that you get your birds from Privett Hatchery...I do too! So far their birds have been of great quality!

Enjoy all your poultry adventures and welcome to our flock!

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! If I am counting right you have in standards 17 hens / 3 roosters and 1/1 in bantam... the usual recommendation seems to be around 8-10 hens per rooster, so you are on the high side, especially depending on how they group themselves... you might want to keep an eye on the condition of the hens and be prepared to cull a rooster or two.

Thinkin about maybe adding 4more hens our seabright seema to have taken a liking to the turken and brom what ive read and heard seabrights usualy pick one or two and stay with that so that leaves three roos for the reat of the standerd breeds

Alright

If you have the yard to support the poultry get more but if you plan on selling them you will need to make separate coops and run's or you will only have mixed chicks to sell

We whent ahead and gave the red roo away he was ready to mate and the hens were not quite ready out barred rock roo is still in the brooder along with several of the hensbut the seabright and polish dont seem too be hving any problems with each other or our other hens so i think we are ok now
