Am I missing anything for my coop plans?

yes our climates are very similar... Was thinking of fans too actually but I saw some warning about fan and chicken dust
My fans are in the eaves, so are about 71/2-8 feet from the floor, and aimed to blow over the roosts, not at the floor. I keep my coop fairly clean so dust has not been a problem. I'm not saying there is NO dust, that's impossible, but I clean the fans as needed, and wipe the inside coop down regularly, as needed, to keep dust minimized. I also have a droppings board, and that is scraped daily, and I spray that and roosts with white vinegar and wipe with a rag. Takes minutes, helps keep dust down. Having lots of ventilation also helps. What will work for you will ultimately depend on your set up.

It's a good thing I am planning big...because I just called mypetchicken.com today to add 1 white crested black polish bantam chick, and 1 porcelain d'uccle bantam chick...

I love my silkies. They do love to go broody, so if you want more chickens then you are in luck. They will hatch as many as you like. Mine tend to stay broody.

Suggestion: Build 1 or 2 boxes for your silkies that will allow them to have easy access to food/water (close to her nest). Also make it so the other hens cant see her, because if my silkie sees another hen standing at her cage, she will just bow up and run back and forth and fuss. This is how im building mine. Mine will have wooden walls and a wooden door. The top will be a screen top for ventilation, and will be hinged so I can get in and change water/food etc. My box will stay in my new coop so the hen can hatch the chicks, and I can let them in and out when I want to.

Its really cute to see the babies and momma walking around together.

I plan on attaching 4 - 6 12"x12" external nest boxes on the right side of my coop for the layers and 2 - 24"x12" broody boxes on the back and really appreciate the tips on the wall and food ideas! I will see about incorporating it.

glad you're getting d'Uccles...I have one Mille Fleur and she is so sweet!!
Hoping to get a porcelain this summer with our new babies!

I think your coop will look great. Be sure to post pictures when you finish building it!

oh I plan to post as many as I can...I have gotten a lot of inspiration from the coop gallery! Besides gotta get those photos of gran and the chicks. I ordered her a egg blue apron online and she is so very exited to show it off as soon as it come.I'll admit to getting one myself in yellow with matching yellow rubber boots with chickens on them.
