Hi! I've got two Silkies. I know 4 weeks is very early, but I think I have determined their sexes. @Sagey_7878 already provided one thoughtful opinion on another thread. I'd like to have our suspicions confirmed. Thoughts? Pics aren't the best because my phone's lousy and I had a hard time wrangling chicks and taking the photos by myself. Sorry...

Unfortunately, you will need to wait a little while longer till you can really determine sex.
Sexing Silkies is one of the great poultry debate topics, Until it either crows or lays an egg no one can agree.
If I had to make a guess though, I would say the white is a cockerel and the black a pullet.
Well sexing Silkies based on feather characteristics does take a lot longer, sexing them by comb growth and development is still very accurate and can be done early.

@Cyprus

I have a couple silkie broilers who need sexing. I posted them a few weeks ago and was told they are all cockerels. I firmly believe I have 2 pullets. Would you be willing to weigh in? (And on one cochin bantam as well?)

Sorry to hijack your thread OP, I just want to get Cyprus' attention before she goes offline.

Sure, I'll take a look at them :)
