Am I roo???

    My 4weeks old SS that I bought from Cackle.
    Each one has different way developing feathers and combs but this one...
    Got pinkish comb then others and the wattle will be place is pink-ish then others, too.
    And looks taller than others. Stand up so high.

    Is she roo???

    It is a bit early, but I wanted to find a pic of my girls at that age but for some reason I don't have them uploaded yet. I do have a picture of mine @7 weeks so you can see the size and color of her comb and wattles, and she was the first to lay @17 weeks 4 days too!

    My Maggie (also a Speckled Sussex) was pinker than that at 4 weeks and I got unanimous "girl" votes at 10 weeks. Her body shape is far from tall, though. More like teardrop-shaped with a wiiide backside.

    Your chick's comb is not overly large for her breed and it's certainly not red. I know waiting isn't fun but I think it's too early to tell.

    From the stance and comb, it looks like a roo. The comb is a bit bigger and redder than most hens at that age, but at this point it could still go either way.
