Ok - I had someone mention mistinng their duck eggs while in the bator .

Ive never been told of this, ive heard that you need to mist silkie duck eggs daily but never any other type of eggs. So am I supposed to be misting my eggs?they are mutt duck eggs.

I had 10 muscovy eggs shipped in, it took them 8 days to get here...I misted them regularly and was able to hatch 2 of them, although they needed extra help getting out of their eggs.

Misting is optional. Holderread says he gets a slightly higher hatch rate with daily misting--something like 5-10% higher. It's supposed to mimic the mother duck getting back on the nest after a quick dip in the pond. I do it when I think of it. But I'm not religious about it.
