We raised Simmentals for years, but several years ago switched over to Angus bulls so now our cows are simmental/angus crosses. I like your longhorn cross .....I used to have several longhorn cross cows.
Any pics?
My parents own a Simmental cross cow, and she's one of their favorite cows, raising an awesome calf every year without assistance.
My small herd consists of:
"Cowgirl"- Texas Longhorn
"#80" - commercial Black Angus
"Joanna" - Black Angus x Saler
"Sarah" - registered Black Angus
"Purdy" - Black Angus x Texas Longhorn
"Kathy" - Black Angus x Black Angus/Hereford
"Christy" - Black Angus x Black Angus/Saler
"Raya" - Black Angus x Braunvieh
And the calves... No names yet!
Cowgirl's steer calf sired by a SimAngus
#80's heifer calf sired by a Black Angus x Braunvieh
Joanna's heifer calf sired by a SimAngus
Sarah's heifer sired by a Black Angus
Purdy miscarried her 2010 calf
Kathy's steer calf sired by a Black Angus
Christy's heifer calf sired by a "Balancer" (Black Angus x Gelbvieh)
Raya's steer calf sired by a Black Angus
And my three yearling heifers...
"Savannah" - Black Angus x Texas Longhorn, bred to a Black Angus
"Jasmine" - Black Angus x Black Angus/Texas Longhorn, bred to a Balancer
"Mikaela" - Black Angus x Black Angus/Saler, bred to a Black Angus
Sorry, I love talking about my cows, LOL.
As you can guess, my parents run Black Angus and Black Angus cross bulls, and we keep a lot of our heifers for replacements.
Yes, I've got a lot of pictures of our cattle. Some on here and quite a few on BackYardHerds. If you do a search of my name over there my threads with pictures will come up.
