Am I the only one obsessed with miniature cows????

My little bull is 39" tall at 13 months old, he's 1/2 Dexter, 1/2 MiniHereford

My 2 MiniHereford heifers are 38" tall at 2yrs old and 16 months old

Love the minis!! These pics were taken in late winter. They look better now....The heifer had been rubbing her face on the ground - and she has the audacity to clean his!!! Hypocrite!

I'm seriously considering keeping miniature milking cows on my future farm. Their just so tiny and cute!

It'll be a hard tossup between a Jersey and a mini cow

Why not get a miniature Jersey? Thats what I am dreaming of.....

This is one of my dads Jerseys, this picture was from a few years ago as you can tell. Jerseys are wonderful, docile and produce a great deal of milk. I am not sure of her height but shes a short girl.

Oh my goodness ,I wish you were my neighbor. I have been looking for mini cows and especially a jersey. They are gentle and so sweet,do give lots of milk. I like making butter and cheese.

I'm glad I found this thread because we raise Dexter Cattle. We raise long-legged PHA free and Chondro free Dexters. That's what the breed originally was back in Ireland. Dexters are not miniature cattle. They are descended from the ancient Celtic cattle and are the smallest breed because they lived in the mountains of County Kerry, Ireland. They were ideal for the small homesteader because of their size and gentleness. They can be used for milk, meat and draft. The are predominately black but also come in red and dun. We select for temperament, good udders and beefy builds. I halter and lead train all of our babies. Two of our cattle are on permanent loan to Maymont Park's Children's Farm in Richmond Virginia.

These are our miniature jerseys....Caesar & Lucy. They are very gentle & sweet & can give up to 4 gallons of milk a day. That's a lot of milk per day for a small family. The jerseys also have the highest fat content if you like cream or making butter.
