Am I the only one that hates halloween?

I love Halloween, it is my favorite. However, I do not have little ones anymore to go around, and the only reason I liked it when they got candy was so I could take it from them in a game of poker....

I don't look at Halloween as celebrating anything. To me, it is just a day for kids to get to be kids, and get excited about dressing up and getting some candy. I always went trick-or-treating as a kid and it didn't prevent me from becoming a Christian when I grew up.

Wikipedia has good information on the orgins of Halloween and the orgins of the traditions,etc.,...IF anyone wants a good explanation of it. Just saying,...

I have to admit that I love Halloween. I love decorating the house and helping my kids figure out what they are going to dress up as. I love taking them out trick-or-treating or sitting at home and handing out candy. The only thing I don't like is really creepy costumes or haunted houses. After Thanksgiving though, I tend to hide out in my house and try to stay away from all the Christmas stuff.

I ate 4 miniature 100 Grand bars when we got home and now the baby is moving all over the place inside me (sugar high!)... I told my kids that they had to share the candy with their unborn brother/sister.

Wow...I thought I was weird for hating Halloween. Didn't used to, but have not liked it at all since 1993. Seems silly to me...and the candy is awful for the children..I freak when I see my grandchildren dragging a 2-ton bag of candy behind them with the full intention of eating it all. Sometimes I take a bunch out when they aren't looking and hide it. The never even miss it. Truly, Halloween stinks.

The kids graciously gave me about a pound of the chocolate that they hauled in tonight, and I'm enjoying it with a nice snifter of 16 year old Lagavulin.
