I haven't yet read all the responses yet, but you know, just because a person has a pet peeve, it does NOT mean that it's the only thing in the whole wide world that person has to be concerned about. It's just ONE of the things that bug them.
The main complaint was that THE EXTENSION OFFICE, an agency that is assumed to know what they are talking about, that people are referred to all the time for correct information, is giving out WRONG information. Maybe that's ok with a lot of people. But it's sort of like if your kid's math teacher was insisting that 4 X 5 = 22. You know that's incorrect, but if you complained, would you like to have others say, "I wish that was the only thing I had to worry about."? Would you just say, oh well, close enough? Or would you want your kid's teacher to teach the correct information?
It's not just this one thing, that was just an example of the pervasiveness of misinformation that abounds these days. Can you see where that just might be a problem? I can understand and ignore it on somebody's private blog or other private web page, but from the so-called experts?
