I have one white houdan bantam (pullet) one mottled houdan bantam (rooster). I've been searching EVERYWHERE on this website, google, APA, etc and cannot find anyone else with WHITE bantam houdans??
I know there is a BYC member who has them listed for sale on his website, but after 8 months of being on a waiting list, calling, emailing, and offering to send money for eggs, chicks and even adults--and having my requests ignored--he either does not really have them or my money's not green enough. SIGHS.
Anyway--I'm on several lists for mottled houdan bantams but I'd really like to get my hands on some more whites...
Edited to add that the white & mottled birds are siblings (or at least came from the same place in Oregon).
I'd planned two pens (one for mottled & one for white silkies) but then thought I'd just add another pen (a third one that hubby does not know about yet) LOL and separate my white houdan from the mottled houdan. My plans were kind of ruined when I only got 2 to hatch out of 9 eggs.
My hubby suggested I breed the mottled to the white to see if I can get anymore whites...but I've not gotten a straight answer from the guy I bought my eggs from as to whether or not these two birds are in fact related. I contacted him and asked about the white bird and he claims to not have any white houdans and said it's not from his flock??? He's the only place I bought houdan bantam eggs from--so yeah?? I also requested to purchase more eggs (the ones I bought were $80+ off eBay) but he said he's not got the time any more this season to ship eggs.
ANYONE???
