I'm told they are great layers.
Anyone know if they are hardy for the cold weather?
Friendly and quiet? Broody at all??
I consider my aussies friendly and quiet (well except for one hen...diff story) So I was hopeing they would be a good choice for a better egg producer.
I believe they are black or white? I assume the white ones are better layers...
really considering them...would like your imput.
Thanks

I think they'd be fine- but be wary of any roosters with big combs- they are prone to frostbite. The parent breeds would be what ever they crossed to get the amberlinks. I've heard of them, but not familiar.

I really like my Amberlinks, born in March and mixed with a flock of birds that were about 7 months old. They are very friendly, with lots of personality. Although they kind of stay with themselves there has been no fighting or blood shed when I put them in with the others. I started free ranging them about 3 weeks ago and all is well. They have not begun to lay yet, so hopefully that will be good too.
