So we're on day 7 (post vet visit) of Lucy Goose's bumblefoot saga, and tonight we noticed poor little Amelia has a small hole in her foot.

It doesn't seem swollen or infected, and it doesn't seem to be painful, but...

Any thoughts on how to move forward?

(Amelia is a three-year old silver Appleyard duck.)

Ducks can get holes in their webbing occasionally, most often from a sharp object like a stick or a metallic object. Excessive amounts of holes in their webbing could indicate an ant infestation in their living quarters.

The good thing is, it usually never poses a problem to them, and there's not much as far as treatment.

I'd personally leave it.

Thanks as always, @Isaac 0 ! On top of dealing with Lucy, we were not excited to dig into a new issue. I have not seen ants. I'll look. It is VERY dry here, and they do spend a couple hours a day foraging all over where there are sticks and prickers and such. Poor Amelia is molting now too, so she's just not feeling her best.

You can check for ants, but it's likely a hole from a sharp object.

Just for reference, here's a picture of a duck that had ants chewing on its webbing.

Note, the small jagged "bite marks" all along the webbing.
