We have a mixed breed flock. Five hens that are 2-4 years old who have one 1 year old great rooster.
Four six month hens-2 ameracauna and 2 leghorn-just started laying.
2 maran hens 4 months old and a 4 month maran rooster. And one 4 month old silkie rooster.
The 2 ameracaunas have been veey defiant from ghe start....charging at us, hard to handle. The four six month old hens (ameracauna and leghorn) kept perching on the top of their 5' fence and eventually flying the coop multiple times a day. We have dogs, hawks and other potential predators so about a month ago we clipped their wings. Since then the two Ameracaunas RARELY come out of the coop. They are definitely at the bottom of the pecking order and because theyre never with the rest of the flock when they do come out its chase every time.
I keep thinking they'll adjust but im worried they're not happy or im missing something...?
BtW thanks to all the BYC community ive used your forums a lot along our chicken journey.

Well the gold ones have already grown back and if she does come out shes perching on the fence again. I just watched the black one come out and immediately the roos go after her so she runs back in the coop. Its like theyre staying in there to avoid being mated???
