Ameraucana adult color?

I'm trying to remember if the sign on the cage that had her breed in it said Ameraucana AND Easter Egger. It doesn't matter which one she is. She's adorable and sweet now and it'll be interesting to see what she'll look like and the eggs she'll lay! Thanks for all the helpful replies!

However, you have an Easter Egger, not an Ameraucana, based on that photo. Because EEs aren't bred to a color standard, there is really no possible way to tell you what that baby will look like when it's all grown up. I would guess that, based on the fact that Harley is such a standard baby chick color for an EE, that she'll be some variation of the partridge feather pattern and look something like one of these--but nothing is certain:

So far I'm thinking she's an EE, but on that site you provided there were those silver chicks that looked like her, and they were Ameraucanas. I provided more pictures of her.

She is definatley an EE, NOT an ameraucana . The color of your chick is what most EE chicks look like as chicks. Most people think that they are silvers, but they arent. And no hatcheries sell silvers. there are only 2 hatcheries that sell actual ameraucanas and the only varieties they sell are blue and wheaten, and now that I think about it maybe white but I dont think so. But anyways. While your chick look similar to a silver she isn't, on her chest she has some brown, silvers chest are all whitish as chicks.

If the sign said both that is a sign that she is defitaley an EE.

I forgot to mention that I got her from Callahan's General Store in Austin, Texas. I know Ameraucanas lay only blue eggs, but do EEs lay different colors and shades throughout their life?

No, they will only lay one color their whole life.For example If their first egg is pink the rest will be pink.the shade might change slightly if you change feed or when they get older and are almost done laying. But it will always be the same color though.

Yes ameraucanas only lay blue eggs.

That's a bit subjective. The standard says blue, but the actual egg color can be a bit greenish to my eyes unless the breeder is breeding specifically for egg color.

My purebred Ameraucana eggs aren't nearly as pretty as some of my EE eggs--the EE eggs are these gorgeous turquoise, green and blue, whereas the Ameraucana eggs are a more muted blue-green. OP, don't be sad that you got an EE! EEs often lay better than Ameraucanas, too--larger eggs, more often.

True, but the standard say they are suppose to lay blue eggs, so that is why I said they lay blue eggs. Some of mine lay a greenish color, but they will get put in the pen with the EEs when I start breeding. Sometimes I wonder if I am going color blind lol.

Do you have some Ameraucana that lay a true blue egg? I may have to put you on my list of people to get birds/hatching eggs from. I don't show my birds, and only really care about egg color. So far, my Ameraucana have been quite disappointing compared to my EEs.
