No, it is about the bird in post #1.

Mahonri knows his bird is not of show quality. Both birds, in any show situation Should be DQ'd for foreign color.

He wasn't shown as a blue he was shown "AOV". I had it changed.

I have an AOV question. Does the bird have to be a real color variety that is not APA or ABA accepted for the breed (like Blue Silver Duckwing Ameraucana for example) to be shown in AOV or can it be any color?

The only place I've seen "AOV" used is in fair shows where each breed/variety is given a seperate identifying number. In those cases "AOV" would be a named variety not listed in the show catalog. In other words you couldn't cross a White Leghorn with a Dark Brown Leghorn producing who knows what & call the resulting bird an "AOV".

Yes, at a sanctioned show AOV birds cannot get more than BV (or BB is the breed is unrecognised).​

I don't think gold leakage is any better than silver leakage. In either case the bird is missing the melanizers that cover those areas with black/blue pigment.

I have seen AOV used at every show I've been to. It can be a named variety that is not recognised for a particular breed (for example a silver duckwing silkie or a barred australorp), or a variety that is not yet recognised for any breed (opal oegb, isabel silkie, and not too long ago, chocolate and khaki polish).
