Ameraucana breeding question

It could be possible, yes. Through my mixed breed breeding program I wound up with some pullets that are blue, pea combed, bearded and muffed, and slate legged. They should lay blue eggs. They do have a large percentage of true Ameraucana in them, but they're not pure bred. Could I sell them as such? Sure. Do I want to risk my reputation? Heck no. I can already sell them as mixed breed blue egg layers for $20-25 each, my integrity isn't worth the extra $10 or so I'd charge for a pure bred bird.

Do research on your chosen breed. Become familiar with the body shape, that's way more important than color. As they say, you have to build the barn before you paint it. Don't be shy about asking a lot of questions from folks you're looking to buy from. If they don't have time to talk to you, you probably don't want their birds. I love talking with folks about my birds' history and what they should expect as the bird matures. You should be able to see the parent stock, they should all be the same color and separated in pens so the colors don't mix or you'll get mixed color chicks.
