Hey everyone 👋 These girls joined our family at the end of April. Super friendly and wow-ee, their dad is REGAL. (I’ll attach a pic bc who doesn’t love a handsome roo?)

I’m new to chickens to please excuse me if this seems silly - Someone mentioned a darkened head can mean a cockerel ameraucana. I just figured it was an easy way to tell them apart 🤦🏻‍♀️ These are some progressive pics of my (hopefully) ladies. Any info would be appreciated! (If you catch a glimpse of my grey guy in the background of any pics, I am aware he is a HE 😆)

None of them are Ameraucanas. They are Easter Eggers.
Did you hatch them from eggs fertilized by the pictured rooster?

Yes, that rooster fertilized the eggs. Why do you say they aren’t ameraucanas? I saw the eggs...watched them hatch. Have photos of them in the incubator!

The most obvious thing is the bright green legs. Ameraucanas don't have green legs. But they are extremely common in EEs. Here's my article on the difference.

Because Ameraucanas don't look like that. Easter Eggers do.
Well I’m so glad I got the messages when I joined saying how ‘nicer everyone is. I didn’t feel like you spat in my face *at all* for this post. Thanks so much. So patient and not at all rude.

Read it. Thanks

Hi, they’ll be 7 weeks old tomorrow.
Somehow missed the most recent pic you posted. Sorry about that. The blue is for sure a cockerel. The three orange look like they may be cockerels as well. Post updated pics in a few weeks of those three.

Text is flat and hard to decipher tone from. Nobody was rude here. Some (including me at times) are just very to the point or in a hurry etc.

You have some cute EE/barnyard mixes. I feel pretty confident saying the 3 I didn't circle are pullets. @Rhodebar Lover can you confirm?
