Ameraucana: Hen or Rooster? (born feb 21) just over 3 months old....

I heard something sound like a crying baby or peacock last night and this morning and it almost sounded like my just over 3 month old Ameraucana was trying to 'crow' (a waaaaaah) sound. She (he?) has no spurs but the feathers seem kind of pronounced in the tail and nape (frilly and long). I live in a city and can't have roosters.

She only 'crowed' a few times and hasn't done it since 6:30 this morning. I'm wondering if it is too early to see if this is a rooster or not. She is high strung and a bit taller than the rest of my chickens and tries to be a little bossy but is otherwise passive with food and the other chickens haven't ever bothered her.

Ideas?

100% rooster, look at those neck feathers, and that tail. Along with the comb.

And this is why it's best to start a new thread for each bird.

Chaoticchickens, the bird you responded to was first posted in 2011. I'm sure the OP knows what gender it is by now and has made peace with it. At the end of page 2, someone added a picture of another bird, that bird is now the one in question.

That's okay, you're not the first! Just remember to check the date in the upper left or you wind up resurrecting threads--we call them zombie threads!

Rooster for sure. We have one that looks exactly like that one. We kept going to the place where we got her/he. And they kept telling us its a hen. Once it reached five months and started mounting our hes we new for sure. And now, he going some where else to live.
