Ameraucana pullets not laying yet???

Hi....I have some Ameraucana pullets that are almost 7 months old, and they have not started laying yet. All of my Marans and even the Silkies which are the same age as the Ameraucanas ARE laying. This is my first year with this breed....is this normal?

I've heard of hens not laying til they are past a year old.

Thanks for replying! That seems so strange to me, as the Ameraucanas were one of my quickest breeds to mature. It seems strange that it would take them so long to start laying....

Mine started laying around the same age as yours. Just be patient. Guess its like expecting all people to go through puberty at the same time. Some are early, some are late bloomers.

My EE was my last to start laying. She was a whole month and a half behind my first layer, I think she was around 7 months too. I think they hold out since your waiting for that blue/green egg!
