I just lost my EE tonight. She got sick or something within 2 days. She is one of my 4 pet hens, which are all different breeds. I love them all but my brown/buff EE was my favorite. She was shy but was very different than the others. Never got broody on me, but she lived to be 1.5 years only. I am still trying to investigate why she got sick. It was in the 90's out here for a week. Maybe they can't take the heat? I posted that question here just a few minutes ago.
