Good Morning
We have an Ameraucana roo and some Barred Rock hens and Delaware hens. If we breed the roo to them does that make sexlinked EEs? I know the Barred hen works for a sexlink but I'm not sure about the Ameraucana.
Thanks

So long as the Ameraucana is not barred, all offspring from these crosses should be black sex-links. The head spot may be tricky to see with the Delaware mixes, however, as the barring is so restricted.

That is only true if the Ameraucana rooster is "Black/Blue/Splash" Also if it's Birchen based, but any other color they will not be black sex links, if the Ameraucana rooster is Wheaten based the chicks will not be sexable at hatch, if the rooster is wildtype(e+) the male chicks may or may not show the headspot, that is because eWh/e+ chicks have a hard time showing the headspot due to wheaten. from experience crossing Legbars with RIR(Wheaten based) to recreate the Rhodebars the eWh/e+ chicks will have intermediate chick down between wheate and wildtype and the headspot is not visible.
