Ameraucana? Rooster

Hey everyone. Posted a question in the new member forum but figured I'd post it here too. We have had this rooster for a year or 2 and got him from another backyard chicken enthusiast nearby. The rooster is supposed to be an ameraucana and we were just wanting to get any confirmation if he is or if he is an EE? He has been breeding with our wyandottes and we have our first chicks from them this year!

He's a gorgeous Easter Egger, as there are no recognized true Ameraucana color varieties that are similar in appearance.

Thanks for the reply! We figured he was an EE since our EE hen lays a light pinkish/white egg and they came as a pair.

Would anyone know what color eggs we can expect from him breeding with our golden laced wyandotte hens?

Agreed,that's an easter egger. He doesn't follow any of the breed colors and the green legs are a giveaway.

An EE can lay eggs of any shade but 90% of the time are minty green/blue or blue. Obviously a male can't lay eggs so you won't know what gene he carries until his babies grow and lay their own eggs. If he has the blue gene, the eggs from him and the wyandotte offspring should be green or olive. If he has the brown gene, they'd be brown. If he carries the gene for a pink egg, they'd be brown/tan.

If he's pure for the blue gene, bred to a Wyandotte, his daughters would lay green, but not olive. Wyandottes don't lay a dark enough brown. If he was being bred to a marans then they'd be olive.
