Hi there cutesy little guys-welcome to the world. Hey, that's not cedar is it?
If it is you dont want to use it with the pine shavings. It may not do anything
but it may affect their respiratory system or stress them and make them more vulnerable to disease.

Anyone who has Ameraucanas knows that other chickens sure like to play with their beards so post away-no worries. (0:

Waiting for comments on leg or feather colors .
Just kidding a little and hope this thread does not devolve into a fight . Thanks for posting the pics , would have been tempted to go if I had known there was a show so close .

Yes there was some EEs entered , i don't know if the Judge knew that much about the standards for Ameraucanas or not (?) it will just take time and education for this breed to become a household word one day (lol).

Go to the ABC site for "the rest of the story" (i know you are looking for)

This is Ugly Betty. Only we dont call her that anymore we just call her Betty. When she was given to us she was going thru a molt, and she was UGLY. oUR other chickens thought so too and they gave her such a hard time. She is about 2 years old or so I was told. She gives us pretty bluish green eggs when she feels like it. After a LONG while she began growing back her feathers and takin up for herself..NONE of the others mess with her now..when she does surprise us with her pretty eggs they are HUGE...we just love her!
