Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

Could I get some opinions about what sex my Ameraucana is? I'm including a few photos. He/she was born sometime in the middle of July. Thanks, Y'all.

She's a girl, but you sure she's an Ameraucana? Her leg color is right, but her plumage color is wrong. She's a gold duckwing w/dominant white, two things not found with Ameraucanas. Still, she's very pretty!

i have a hen looked just like her she was born white and turned like this she out show wheatons

Okay Splash Wheatens, yes, can look similar.

But a duckwing, and no other color, has reddish on the breast and white or splash (when carrying it) on the rest of the body.

A Wheaten is more the opposite, where the breast is usually pale but can be creamy Wheaten in color, however the splashiness or white shows up in the tail, wings, possibly neck too, and if really poor quality, the back as well.

No, I'm not sure. That's what they told me at feed and seed store. I think the chicks I got that day were from Ideal. I'm new to all of this and am learning many lessons. I'm delighted y'all at least think it's a girl! I didn't want to have to give away another roo. She's been doing a lot of "chest bumping". Thanks, y'all.

Ah.

She's an Easter Egger then, but still, a beautiful and great gal I bet!

Feedstores and hatcheries only sell Easter Eggers.
