Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

This is one of my favorite 2011 pullets, a BW I call Periwinkle. I love her beard and muffs!

This potentially might be her mom, my near constant broody Judy. I say might because Judy has done nothing but raise chicks this year, she's on her fourth and final brood right now, 2 Wheaten Olive Eggers that luckily for me turned out to be pullets!

I have one EE she just started lying!! I am getting on egg a day that is army green. She was hatched a week before easter and I raised her in my living room until she was ready for the coop. Needles to say she is super spoiled. She is an organic cage free spoiled rotten sweetheart!!! I am too new to be able to post pics.

Hmmm...the head looks pinkish/buff and the body looks like it carries blues. I'm not familiar with Splash Wheaten enough in chicks, but I don't think that is what we have here. The pics are so bright, it is hard to pick up accurate colors in the body. Also, I'm seeing a greenish hue to the chick's legs....which of course makes me think it is an EE. Most Wheaten Ameraucanas have lighter legs at this age that eventually darken.

Try to take a pic of your chick in the shade or even on an overcast day.

Welcome to BYC and congrats on your green eggs! There is a thread dedicated to EE's and when you get the chance to post pics, be sure to post them there for us to see!

If you don't mind a few questions from someone new to all this...
If I understand correctly, a split is when you cross two colors. What two colors is he a split of? What color hen would you use him on?

A split is a bird carrying a recessive gene but because they only have one, they do not show it.

So black x lavender = Lav splits.

Buff x Silver = not splits
