Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

Pips&Peeps, this is the black cockerel that I hatched from your eggs. He is GORGEOUS!!!

Thanks, y'all! He's still really young. I expect he will fill out as he matures. He's just beautiful though. He was the chick that got pecked on the head when he was young. For some reason the other chickens decided to peck his head open. There was an area the size of a quarter that had been pecked to the bone. I almost culled him then. He ended up living in the house for a month or so while I cleaned his head and gooped on the neosporin. His head ended up growing back together and he integrated back into the flock nicely. You would never know his skull had been exposed by looking at him now.

Yeah, that's the problem. I end up being attached to the roos and there are only so many that you can keep. Sigh. If he can't get along with the other roo in that pen, I'll have to come up with a bachelor pad or rehome him. Or get rid of one of the other two. Decisions, decisions...

This is Julia ( Blue EE hen ) She started laying this week!!!

This is Julia's egg!!! It's beside a Buff Orpington egg! Do you think it's a standard egg or a bantam egg?
