Wanted to ask acouple questions? I was reading on ABC about the discussion on what type of "silver" the ameraucana should be. I would ask over there but I am still waiting for my membership, anyway. Is that what is wanted to have the striping in the hackles and the saddle?
I was also wondering if there is anybody else still working on the blue silver variety? This is something I am really interested in working with and wanted to know where this project stands?
Yes the black striping is the difference between silver and silverduckwing. There was a post on the ABC forum about blue silver recently.Mike Gilbert sold all of his a couple of years ago but there are some still out there.I will have to read it again and see if it says who has them.
I think you posted a wheatenXsilver cross.
So improving silvers can be done with either black or wheaten. What about if I used a blue and a silver Would that eventually give me a blue silver 2 generations later? I really like those blue silvers.![]()
Sorry that's not a blue silver. Blue Silvers would have blue, not black tail and primaries![]()
Yes, you can get Blue Silvers in just 2 easy generations using Blue/Splash birds while also improving them too.
