Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

OK, I am reading, like I said, I ordered them in as the "Amera", these pics the roos are young, they have developed more, but I was reading the site, Ok, I am trying to understand, reading and looking at the pics, why do you say mine aren't?
your site says, " For those who may not know the breed characteristics, “Ameraucanas” are first and foremost BLUE EGG layers. (mine lay blue eggs.) They MUST have “pea combs”, (The comb looks like the ones on the pics on the site of them.) and be bearded and muffed and tailed, and CANNOT have any tufts ( they have that, beards and muffs and thier tails were coming in, some have really long tails, but what are tufts?) They also MUST have slate blue legs, and red ear lobes (females pale) (These pics were taken at night with a flash, in some of the site pics the legs didn't look slate, but they must have been. These have slate legs and is the ear lobes are what I think they are, these are red.)
So what am I missing? Thanks.....

A lot of us have EE and Ameraucanas. Hatcheries DO NOT sell Ameraucans. You can only get them from breeders. Ameraucanas only come in certain colors any other color is really an EE.

Easter Eggers do share a lot in common with Ameraucanas. But in addition to what you list above, Ameraucanas come in 8 very specific colours (and Splash, although that isn't a recognized colour) - and only those colours. Yours aren't those colours. Even birds produced by Ameraucana parents aren't considered Ameraucanas if their colour isn't wrong. Your birds also appear to have green legs, not slate. Hatcheries don't sell true Ameraucanas. They sell "Easter Eggers" as Ameraucanas. You will probably understand the difference better if you read what Easter Eggers are.

"The Ameraucana Breeders Club defines an Easter Egg chicken or Easter Egger as any chicken that possesses the blue egg gene, but doesn’t fully meet any breed descriptions as defined in the APA and/or ABA standards. "

Ok, so it's the color too that plays into it. So, if I have like a blue one or a wheaten one, would they BE the Amera? OR still be the EE? I do have some that look like the colors posted on the site, I could get pics for you to see in a few days?

Hatcheries don't sell Ameraucanas even though they claim to be selling "Ameraucanas". Not all blue egg layers are Ameraucanas.
