If the eggs were shipped, just because they didn't develop doesn't mean they weren't fertile. Shipping is VERY hard on eggs. Since you got a blood ring, that means you have fertility, just an early quitter. Not the sellers fault unless they packaged them poorly.Ok. So have you ever hearx of a confetti pattern? It came.out of a blue wheatenameraucana breeding. I dont have a pic yet. I also cant find a pic either of a generic one. Do you know what this is and since it came from a blue wheaten breeding can it be used over wheatens to produce blue wheatens? I know this is a complex genetics question that is way over my head.
I am just very frustrated as i ordered eggsfrom someone on the ABC breeders directory and at least 3three werent fertile and 4the more had blood rings and i am down to 5the and i havent heard from the seller yet about the non fertile ones. Oh and these were at least a week old when i got them in to the incubator because they shipped on athe thursday over memorial day weekend....so yeah i am a little frustrated i just want some ameraucanmas.

Very cute chick!
My B/B/S Wheatens are the same!
So sweet and friendly!
They run to sit on my feet and figure out ways to fly up to my arms/shoulders/head if I won't pick them up!!
Love them!!
It is a common misconception that weekend shipments just sit there. The truth is the mail moves 24-7.A saturday shipment will usually arrive on monday or tuesday.2-3 days just like a monday shipment.Yes the post office often messes up.I have had shipments take 7-10-14 days. The post office will not take responsibilty for this.If it was a thursday shipment and did not make it on saturday as expected then yes it should have waited. As a seller and a buyer I know both sides. When selling on ebay some customers will win a auction and request a monday shipment which then takes away my next auction.I wish they would wait for the next auction that ends in time for a monday shipment.Let the people who do not have hang- ups about weekend shipments have these. It is just lost sales to the seller.I send the freshest eggs but it is frustating to have a buyer hold a wednesday shipment until monday.I had 3 that had NO development after 6 days-like a store bought egg, the blood rings were a seperate issue for the 3, an then I think I had an "early quitter" in the last. There was an embryo started, but no veining, only blood ring.
The eggs were in a regular cardboard carton with 2 picnic type napkins wrapping each egg, and the box was filled securely with newspaper.
I am fully aware that shipped eggs are a risk. but I am surprised that a seller with a good reputation would risk their reputation by sending eggs over a weekend, much less a holiday weekend, and risk the development. And I have read enough threads about this to know that many buyers want to blame EVERYTHING on the sellers. I feel that I understand the risks and don't blame the seller for things out of her control. Even the unfertilized eggs. Those things happen. At least correspond with me about the issues, don't just ignore me.
Sorry, I didn't mean to unload on this thread about this issue. I am still trying to give the seller the benefit of the doubt, and will continue to resolve this with them. Thank you for your input.
