I bred marans into some of my own Smith x Shaffer lavs a few years back to start my lav cuckoo project. So that person would be me. I did not keep any of the visually lavender silvers- no room for a whole separate project. But the chicks were lav chipmunk. (lavender silver duckwing)
My projects should be about 1/16th marans now. The ones in the incubator now will be 1/32nd, so I wouldn't consider them crossbred mutts. And I give most of my project eggs away. I don't sell them trying to deceive people so I can make money.
When I sell anything, at least 20% goes to the Nature Conservancy.
