Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

I am not seeing anything that screams cockerel. No dark chest feathers.
I would say pullets for now

Note: I am NOT an expert (only had ameraucanas for 3/4 years)
Thank you so much! I've only had them for 2 months so you're a better judge than myself! :)
I've not had mine for super long like I said but I hatched a bunch all at once.

Soldier, yours is a blue wheaten rooster. He'll be stunning. :)

NewbieDoo, yours are all girls. They seem to get a lot of orange at the neck right away and then it softens as they fill in more.
Thank you! This is EXACTLY what I wanted to hear!
Thank you Heather! I checked and initially the left one did have bigger legs, but now the smaller of the 2 has caught up and I had a hard time telling which was which today!!! I did check the "peas" and don't fully understand, they both look the same, a large ridge up the middle and teeny teeny tiny scale looking things on either side, are those the peas? Also, do you think they're both Splash Wheatens? I am having a hard time finding pictures to ID them both. Thank you so much again!!!

I am newer to this variety of Ameraucana. I am pretty good at sexing b/b/s. I am having problems with the splash wheatens. The hens are usually light, no matter what variety. When you have the male, it does not show the dark splotching, that the w/bw seem to have at this age. So I am not sure. If you see a row of prominent peas down the middle, with smaller peas on the side, and its pinker. Its a cockerel. The legs are also a fair indicator. You have to be careful, at around 8-12 weeks you can have cockerels getting hen feathers, you might have pullets that are developing quicker then others, and you will have slow growing cockerels. So.............time will tell!

These guys are beautiful. I think I have two boys and 4 girls, I hope I have no more then two boys(the two boys have pink/reddish combs already). My wheaten boy has stolen my heart. I sit inside their makeshift outside pen daily(they are still inside the house in their brooder). The male wheaten comes over and walks onto my hand to be held. He will stay if he is non aggressive once his hormones are in. I need a sky watcher for my hens.

All my Ameraucana's have been the best in my flock. My two splash love to snuggle in my arms. Those two are inseparable. My black hen is more skittish then the rest, but she lays the bluest eggs I've ever seen.

My rooster that I rehomed. My older hens were beating him up and it was too stressful, he was too submissive. I do miss him very much.

These were supposedly ameracaunas. The girl is pure white. This is her hiding behind another chicken. I got a picture of her legs too. They have a green tint but look greyish also. What's the opinion here? She is only 10 weeks old. He is over a year.
