He is an ee, he is silver in color, but his skin pigment on the legs is wrong, so that indicates that he was crossed with something.

Ok thanks, I was just looking at some pictures of Ameraucanas and noticed the diffference in leg color. Thanks. Pretty boy though. I think I'll use him with my Cuckoo Marans for possible Olive Eggers.

I was very excited to see that for the past few days my nest boxes had been disturbed. All my Ameraucanas are 6.5 months old, so I'm hoping the pullets will start laying. Today we had a lot of rain, 1.5 inches so far and more to come, and I went to check the birds to make sure no one was getting wet or cold. I heard some rustling in the nest box. Yippee, I thought, I'll get blue eggs soon. When I looked to see who was in the box clucking away, I found my cockerel! The very same cockerel who grabbed hold of one of the pullets yesterday and tried to breed her. Another cockerel was eying the other nest box. I have very confused cockerels.

Actually you have very good boys who are making sure the nests are comfy and safe for their ladies. Soon they will call the ladies over to see the nice safe nests, let them try them out - perhaps stand guard while the girls cluck contentedly and throw pieces of the nest over their shoulders... and after that - EGGS! Makes up for all the rough stuff while trying to figure out this whole breeding/testosterone thing..

This is a question for Jean. I was wanting to join the ABC and may confused on how to do so. Do I copy the form and send in an email (who to) and then pay by paypal or how does it work?

So I can pay through paypal and then email the form. If I joined now it would only go until January right. Then have to pay again in 2014

Got my first Ameraucana egg at last - not very blue - more like a sea foam/slate. It is from a Lavender/black split I inherited. I had to adjust the pic in photoshop to see any color and it still isn't right.
