Well that may be what is the standard rule is. I still think it isn't accurate by scientific genetics. The genetic description of a hatchery EE and a non-project cross of two show quality Ameraucans are not the same. I just don't believe in calling an almond a peanut.
I have Wheaten, splash and lavender pullets running with a splash and a blue cockerel. If, big if, I were to hatch eggs from either the Wheaten or the Lavender I would not ever suggest they were Ameraucanas because I would never want to saddle someone with the problem of trying to breed out the incorrect color combination of the genes. They would be Easter Eggers to me and to anyone who took them. A purebred doesn't come with a genetic mess that needs to be sorted out before it will breed true to the standard.
