Hi everyone!

I got two Ameraucanas (pretty sure they are)... They are 3.5 month old pullets (got them on Saturday, my first chickens, yahoo!).

Can you guys tell me if they are really AMs or EEs?? I don't really care -all I want is the colorful eggs-, but I just want to know what I have

The top one is Shirley, the one on the bottom pic is Betty.

Shirley gives me the impression there is a name change in the future of this bird. I hope I'm wrong.

You know, today I started to think the same thing... The farm sold me this bird as a pullet, but he kinda looks like a cockerel... I just thought "but what the heck do I know about chickens!?"

Here's another pic where you can see the comb... Thoughts?

I say they are both pullet. There no doubt about the first one, only females get that pattern. As far as the second one, yes she has red, but it is more uniform all over coloring. A better picture of the second would hep to be 100% sure

Hopefully your beautiful EE's lay you some beautiful eggs! Mine do, I was slightly disappointed to discover my AM's, like yours, are actually EE's but the eggs are wonderful just the same. The blue eggs in my avatar are from EE's.
