I saw my black ameraucana cockerel crow for the first time today. Him and one of my rocks were having a crowing contest. He will be 1 at the end of feburary.

Hi I wanted to post my blue girl, she is 21 weeks she is squatting and checking out the nesting boxes! Does she look like a pure Ameraucana?

she laid her first egg today! She is only 22 weeks, I didn't expect her to lay so soon!

NICE.... My blue eggar started laying the other day..... I guess no one told her that she was paid to lay blue eggs... we get green from both of the EErs...

I heard all your chickens are all laying! Finally earning their keep! Green isn't bad, but it's disappointing when you expect them to be blue!

When you buy them for blue eggs...

The only one I'm not sure about is the Brahma.

Can I play too? Got my first Ameraucanas yesterday. Aaat least I hope they are!

I'm crazy over them already, they are both so sweet and I'm glad to have found them. I think they'll be a great addition to my lil flock.

Me too! Sharing some Lav Am love! Trying to find out if these 25 week old boys are good enough stock to breed for Lavs or if they're just eye candy! Any imput is appreciated, the first two pics are of Chester and the last 3 are of Sonic.

Well I am by NO means an expert but I love the look of the first one as far as color. Sonic's color reminds me a little of my boy and I've been "told" he may have some blue to him?

But like I said. NO clue. I'll just have to see what babies look like I guess.

Thanks carcar! I'm thinking the same, although Chester doesn't have much of a muff & beard & is smaller too...so I'm conflicted. Edited to say that they are still pretty young so I wonder how much more they will grow & develop still. Excited to hear what others have to say as well!

They both have a better comb than mine too. Mine is a bit too big. I also want to hear more.
