I want Blues and Blacks and Silvers and...someday, lol....but we can't have everything we wantWell, if you lived closer to me, I would sure sell you a black one. I have two sixteen week olds and three roosters. Likely going to grow out one promising black to show later this fall. I'm going to have to cut at least two of my older ones. I also have some sixteen week old blues. Once again, I think I am going to grow out a couple for possible show. The rest are in need of a new home. Any takers here??? Maybe we can compare pictures of our blues.![]()
The Wheatens are tough to find at times! Have been looking, asking around for weeks and finally found some about 60 miles from the house!!I have been wanting wheaten/blue wheaten pullets! Twice I have hatched shipped eggs and twice I have ended up with one female and four males out of the hatches. It's not easy trying to establish a variety.![]()
I want the silvers too, but right now, I do have too many. I am going to try for some wheatens....we will see. I thought I had a splash wheaten pullet, but looks like she has some darker feathers coming on her wings during the last couple of weeks. Not sure about whether I want to raise the lavenders..I have a cockerel and a hen. I like the wheatens better than I thought I would. I love the splash and I am grateful they are all pullets. The comment about quality breeders do not mix their black and blues have me in a quandary since I don't think I have a black male. I have no desires to raise show stock or show them, period. But, I do want to have the best quality that I can. Seems I have more reading to do, or acquire a black male and then I don't have to worry about it.I want Blues and Blacks and Silvers and...someday, lol....but we can't have everything we want

Guess that answered my question as to what part of Arkansas you are in. If you are close to Kansas, that means Northwest?Well, RoosterLew you are not far from me at all!
Ginger is a pretty Easter Egger
This is my Ameraucana, Ginger, when she was still quite young. I bought a Delaware (in the background) and a Speckled Sussex at the same time, but only Ginger has been laying so far and seems to be an egg almost every day. She is so friendly and runs to me when I appear unlike the other two who run the opposite way! She makes the cutest little chuckling noises too.
They don't appear to be pure Ameraucanas. Colors are off.
Really? I was sold her as an Ameraucana... Oh well, never mind, she is super cute and I love her. Reminds me a bit of my silkie in character.Ginger is a pretty Easter EggerI had one that looked just like her. EEs are great layers.![]()
