There's lots of silver bits poking through the black too...out of all the black chicks I've hatched, I have had 1 solid black chick hatch from my bantam blacks, but it didn't have that...???

My Easter Eggers that I purchased as White Ameraucanas laid their first egg today, I have to say I'm impressed by the color.

My W/BW Ameraucanas babies that I hatched from Jean's eggs are growing like crazy, I'll have to get some pictures up of them. I sold the 2 little Wheaten cockerels that I hatched, so now I'm left with 2 BW cockerels, one darker blue the other much lighter (which should I keep?) and 7 pullets. 2 BW pullets and 5 Wheaten. They're the sweetest little birds, they're very close to being as curious and as brave as my Delawares.

All my eggs are sold for about 6 weeks now. I do have some babies that are growing out.

If you want started birds shoot me an e-mail or PM me in about a month or so and we can see if they are big enough to ship.

Hi! I am really enjoying reading this thread, I didnt get through all of it yet, but am learning a lot! I just recently got 4 bantam lavender ameraucana chicks, they are from John Blehm, and I am really enjoying them and wanted to learn more about the breed, so I am glad I came across this thread!

I'll try and ask again:

Do any of you ever come across an Ameraucana with a white earlobe, or perhaps earlobes that are tinted with the tiniest hint of red? I have a black cockerel who I've been bent on keeping for sometime, but I've realized his earlobes are white, but for a tiny corner is pink. I figured he's young, they will redden later on. All of his siblings have red earlobes now. . . They're all 3 months old, but he's still on the pale side.

Nothing to worry of? Something to really worry of? Perhaps they just don't get sun because of the muffs? (that one sounds silly though. . . my other boys are red, and have just as big of muffs)
