Hey - it was great meeting you today! I just wish we had had more time to sit and chat. I think I'm not going to be a good clerk and my career as one is going to be very short. LOL

Hey - it was great meeting you today!  I just wish we had had more time to sit and chat.  I think I'm not going to be a good clerk and my career as one is going to be very short.  LOL

You were really busy! We would have stayed but my wife is not 100% and she was wearing down. How did your birds score? It was so nice to meet you, too.

My BW hens are some of my best layers in the AM group. @Mrs BachBach, my new little hens lay almost every day. They are the best, and beautiful, too.

My BW Am was a dynamo layer as a pullet. But her 2nd year she gave 3 eggs and stopped. Now in her 3rd year she started up with laying 2 days in a row. Just wonder how long she'll continue laying this 3rd year. At this point I don't care since I'm relieved she wasn't ill and is bouncing around doing chicken things in the yard. She is a very sweet tempered girl and never retaliates aggressors and prefers to flee rather than fight. Just too sweet for her own good but that's why I keep her!

Not too bad, considering how out of condition my birds are. This was my last show for the spring. I will be going to Lake City, but not entering anything.

Anyway, here are the results:

First Show "B" - Reserve CH AOSB BB BV Black Hen, #72R (leg band) - she was not cooperating with the camera, at all

RB RV Black Cock, #71
r

Second show, "A"

Reserve AOSB, BB BV Wheaten Cock, #11y (my breeding)

RB RV, Hen #72r above

My BW hens are my absolute favorite as far as personality. Mine tend to be a little shy with other chickens, but not with me. They love to talk to me and LOUDLY. I will be so happy when I can get a good roo so I can raise my own babies. My lavs have a similar personality, but not quite as interactive with me. The lav roo is laid back and wonderful to deal with. On the other hand, my blue roos are somewhat bullies. One that I have with my laying hens....he has gold/red leakage, thinks he's farm boss and anytime my husband turns his back, he tries to attack. My husband is not laid back either nor is a chicken person so they have a hate/hate relationship. I need to find him a new home. (roo that is)

Congratulations, I think. I have difficulty figuring all the abbreviations since I don't show. Sometimes I make my own like with the wheaten cock, Absolutely Outstanding Show Best!

The applause is for you and your winners, not my attempt at cuteness.
