Mine ship out on March 8 on a Tuesday. Their coming from Princeton TX. to Hays KS. The first Ameraucanas I have ever owned! I'm really excited about getting the babies.
I ordered 20
8 blue wheatens, 7 blacks, & 5 blues.

Yes. Clementine is showing her blue splash colors. Got to see Samouw's pretty AMs at the show yesterday! This is the first day my wife has felt human in a week but she still kept checking the chicks very few minutes.

I have a question! If you had a black that could be split to lavender. What would happen if that where used in a blue/black/splash pen?

Awesome! Which hen was that?

I think she was in the middle of the hens. She wears a red leg band, #72r. She was the only hen wearing a red leg band. She came from Clif and is absolutely gorgeous! The judge really liked her, too - said her type was excellent.

It is not recommended since in later generations you can not tell them apart . If you have one that is blue and 2 copies of lavender you just can not tell which color it is . For this reason I never cross blue to black . I keep a line of black/lavender and a line for blue / splash . Mated in away that does not produce black . That way I do not have mistakes .

So Jerry, when my chicks come don't I want black breeding black, blue to blue and blue wheatens to blue wheatens? I have been planning to divide them by 3 different pens..

Thank you jerryse! I made a error! I will have to check my chicks again. I tried to keep track of the chicks toe punches. I have one lavender marked down with the same punch marks as 4 of my blacks and 3 of my blues. It was my error!!!!!! Thank you for the good info!
