Now that someone with experience is here, what do you think about the "white" chick marchick posted pics of? I've never had one like that

It is entirely possible for a white to crop up out of blue/black/splash pen, if both parents are carrying one copy of the recessive white. Paul had some in his black pen last year, now he's started a whole new line of recessive whites that have the type of his blacks.

I've never hatched out splash, so I don't know if that is a splash with few markings and it will change as it feathers out, or if it is really a recessive white. Time will tell. :)

I have to go to town soon so the love fest part 2 will start back up around 2:00!  Just so you don't feel left out!  :hugs It will be after I get back and cuddle all the chicks and tell them how much I love them and missed them! lol :gig
Hahaha! Give those babies a kiss for me and bring me a drink please!
Susan I'm also very curious about her Two lighter chicks! Can you give us your knowledge?

I think we need to call in the real experts. @jerryse

I'm just what we called in the Army a "flagpole" expert. ;) (Now, if anyone knows what that means, I'll be very impressed. lol )

My DH would be so glad if we accidentally got a white or two...he loves white birds! Sorry I accidentally posted too soon. Is this recessive white on large fowl or bantams?

Ok, ignore for a minute any markings or lack thereof. :) How does the ground color of the two chicks compare to the others in that hatch? From what I've seen, splash ground color can be anywhere from white to very light blue (gray)

My guess from those pictures is it is a white. All of my splash chicks show at least a hint of blue when they start feathering, if not actual splash markings. I think that white would make a beautiful bird. I guess they would breed white?
