She is beautiful! The close ups are really good! If she's gone in the middle of the night she decided to come to live in Kansas with me

Tell Samouw to send you one or two or do some chicken math!

So Susan where did you get these from? They are quite nice and these were the lost chicks RedBank was waiting on?!!

Yes, these are the ones that went into the USPS "black hole" for 51 hours and were delivered, 250 miles away, on Thursday. They were shipped on Monday.

This is my first year breeding blacks. I bought black chicks from Paul Smith last year, and kept 4 pullets out of that batch. I got first a cock and a pullet, then added Max and another pullet later, from Clif Redden. These chicks are all crosses between those two lines - which is pretty safe, since Clif got his start from Paul. So, this could be considered a distant line breeding.

At my first double show with Max, he went Champion Large Fowl, Reserve Champion Large Fowl, 2x CH AOSB, and 2015 SE District Champion Ameraucana.

He's glorious! He's just beautiful! And I might have to name one of mine Max

This little one cried during the picture taking process and bit me too!
Oh my goodness! Their saying don't let them take us stick together like the Alimo! Lol. He looks like he's ready to tackle a tiger! Don't let him bite the finger!! He might decide he likes it!! Lol. Just for grins I think this one looks like a boy and the first a girl

Sounds like a good cross of the bloodlines! He really is breath taking! Sorry, I remember this when it happened. Your wins! It's just the chicks, their side tracking me too much! Lol!
I can't think straight

I'd have to see the comb straight on..could be a pullet, but I'm not sure from this angle. Not as "stout" a chick as the first one. One of my mentors says that those white feet mean cockerel, but I can't tell from that.

If it isn't a cockerel it should be it kept attacking my hand!

You know Susan these chicks went from Augusta, to Atlanta, to Jacksonville and then to Tallahassee. That was one heck of an overnight.

Ah ha! Don't worry! He'll remember that hand tomorrow and have a whole new "perspective" on it.!!
Cockerel. three quite distinct little rows of peas. :)
So I might be able to figure out what sex they are early on!
