Hello my friends!!

. Good news I want to share! I just found out that my chicks are on schedule to be mailed out tomorrow AM!! The little peeps are maybe hatching as I speak!!!
My breeder said he will send me the track # this eve!!!!

My first ever little purebred Ameraucana chicks are almost on their way! Been waiting for what feels like an eternity over the Winter season!
I can't wait to have my own!

I think I heard you squeal all the way down here. You will be so excited to get them. The next eternity you will wait will be for the first eggs
Then the first incubation. I swear, I think that set took 8 weeks...

So this is my big boy, Einstein, any critique on him?

He's a decent bird. The few things I would want to correct in breeding would be forechest. Ameraucanas should have a "prominent" breast and he seems to be lacking there in this picture. The other thing I'd work on his comb, though I can't really see too much about it at this angle. Looks a little big, but a bigger picture might prove me wrong. His eye color looks dark. It should be a nice bay eye.

He has a nice tail set and the transition from neck to back and back to tail is smooth, with no fluff behind the saddle. Breed him to hens with more forechest, and you could get some very pretty chicks.

Sometimes I don't know how I keep my head on straight. Didn't occur to me to get pictures of the eggs waiting to be set. Wheaten/blue wheaten eggs to the right and blacks to the left. You can see the paler eggs in there that I posted about earlier.

Wow Susan! That's great!!! You could feed the world! Those are a lot of eggs!

Well in about 6 short months I will let you know what mine lay! lol You know there is a lot of waiting! You wait for them to hatch.Then you wait to find out the gender.Then you wait for them to lay and then you start all over again! This is not for the I want it now person that can't wait for Christmas!

But! I refuse to wait for Christmas!

LOL! Very true. If you're looking for instant gratification, buy a chocolate cake.
