Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

Ahhh- Julie- I have a bunch of baby wellies growing out. When I can sex them you can have a couple girls- if you keep a splash roo you can make blue olive eggers

I love EEs & OEs- especially when they're blue!

I don't want Coyote to be lonely- so I might give him a speckled sussex to keep him company in a little coop (if I can kick out the broody that's in there now). I wonder if I can get some mottled EEs out of it- have to check the calculator. That would be fun!

I have so many wheaten ameraucanas now- I might be selling a trio in the near future. Have to see what all these babies I have turn out to be first though. It depends on how many lavs I get to hatch too- hope I end up with a few extra so I can "share the wealth" so to speak

Ohhh...olive eggers...that sounds fun! I'm becoming obsessed with colored eggs, they make the egg cartons look so festive

Start him out slowly with the Sussex. One of my Sussex hens is a MEAN little biddy. She terrorizes all the room, they all go the LONG way around her. If your SS looks like my Meg, he may pass out on seeing her in the pen with him

How fun! I hatched out a bunch of olive eggers, EEs and wellies at the same time. Not the best idea though-I can hardly tell them apart except for the cheeks (not all have them) and the comb

Julie- my sussex girl is a sweetie. She's on the smaller side, just started laying, and I can pick her up. I guess we they grow up with cochins the "friendly" is contagious. I think she'll be a nice buddy for Coyote until the lavs catch up with him. If only I hadn't sold all my spash cochin girls.......

My SS is a sweetie to humans, she loves to be carried and petted. If I sit down outside she'll jump up in my lap & settle in like a cat. But she hates the other chickens, except for the 3 hens she was raised with.
