Is my blue wheaten the right color guys? He looks different than the beauty posted a little bit ago. Is he not supposed to have the red brown in him?

Yes, he is the right coloring. The other little guy is just younger and also out in the sun. They get darker as they feather in more. It is fun to watch them progress and go through all their little grow out stages. I love the wheaten/blue wheaten/splash family, especially the blue wheaten Roos.

Awe, they are looking great! I tried to find pictures of some 3-4 week olds on my camera roll, but I didn't see any. Bummer. All my grow outs are 12-14 weeks old right now.

Thank you! I hope I get a few hens! So far I have been getting about 1/3 pullets. Out of 34 blue/black/splash and Lav Ameraucanas. I ended up with 12 pullets. Out of my Blue and Black Copper Marans. I ended up with 6 pullets.

Hello! Above is my lavender (he/she) looks much darker in this photo, it's taken in the coop at dusk. I'm struggling with gender on this one. It's not the best picture but thought I might get someone who knows the breed better to let me know their thoughts. This baby was hatched the last week in February at a breeder in mass. I have a black one I have to get a photo of tomorrow to get some thoughts on gender as well. Neither are crowing, my BCM too has been for well over two weeks who was hatched at the same time. They are not bumping chests or squaring off in any way. Thoughts on gender???
Thanks!

You are right. S/he does look really dark in this photo. Perhaps some photos in the daylight and of the comb from a different angle would be helpful. :) Ameraucanas have a pea comb. Males have three rows of peas and females have one row of peas. Hope that helps! I will attach a few photos of females that I have on my phone.

Ok guys, I have a couple of more questions, these are my 2 wheaten and blue wheaten pullets. Please tell me which is which? Eve is lighter I'm thinking she's a blue wheaten? Brandy is darker so is she a wheaten?
