My for sure wheaten boy is who I spotted first. I think I have an even 5/5 when it comes to boys and girls. What do you think? Girls up top, boys on bottom?Yes, they can be hard to tell apart at first. Wheaten boys always seem to be the easiest to decipher. They go black so quickly! The blue wheaten boys seem to be the next easiest to decipher as they will turn grayish blue fairly quickly. The pullets will all be golden brown and will show their color variety in their wing tips and tails. The splash males will seem similar to the pullets at first, but as they grow you will notice that they are lighter (from the white coloring) and also larger than pullets.Hope that helps!![]()
There are my Chocolate Ameraucana chicks and some Barnevelders for a friend of mine.Sweet babies! What are the darker chicks that are in with the wheatens? They are cute too!![]()

Pics!?One of my 17 week old lavender roosters has white feathers. Has anyone seen this before?
It looks like leakage. Is it like a blonde straw color, or actually white?
That is the Lavender gene diluting red leakage.More white light cream/ silver color!
