Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

For what it is worth (maybe nothing), I looked up the website. Here is a link to their Ameraucana page. I'm sure those in the know would be able to pick out any non AMs in the pictures.

And I have no idea if they keep their free ranged breeds separated by breed at all times. Could be they have some pure AMs but the fertile eggs could be EEs.
Every photo on that page is of an Easter Egger that they claim as Ameraucanas. Like Chubby Checker sang in the Limbo Rock..."How low can you go?"

I'm not sure but their ad sais the eggs are purebred. I'm thinking about messaging them. Maybe it was an honest mistake and they just sold me easter egger chicks by accident?
I sound really neve don't I lol...

Can someone help me with breed standards. I would like to purchase some eventually but can't find the info anywhere. I even tried the ameracauna alliance but the website won't work.
Years ago I personally worked with Sam Brush, of the APA, to come up with the Standard page on our site. It highlights the breed Standard, put doesn't touch on variety descriptions. Due to their copyright it is illegal to reprint much of the Standard word for word. For that you should buy The Standard of Perfection book from the APA.
I see photos of the recognized varieties go to our Photos page.

Purebred to them probably means hatchery type Easter Egger, bred to another hatchery type Easter Egger. The chicks are 'pure' Easter Eggers, not mixes or mutts; just not bred to any particular breed standard like 'true' Ameraucana are. They may not even realize they are breeding Easter Eggers instead of the APA recognized breed, Ameraucana. And worse still, lots of people think that Ameraucana are the exact same thing as Easter Eggers.
The issue with this breeder is that they know what colors Ameraucana should be. It's listed in their breed description. They should realize since their birds don't match accepted color varieties, that they aren't Ameraucana. But they still represent their birds as such.
Most of their other breeds look like pretty typical hatchery stock birds. Likely, they purchased some hatchery Easter Eggers that were labeled Ameraucana, and never bothered to learn anything else about them. I mean, why would a hatchery lie about the breeds they are selling...

I highly doubt it. The guy who commented on the birds is one of the founding fathers that created them...there's alot of dishonest people in the world. Live and learn right?

I meant maybe the breeders sent me the wrong eggs lol. But probably not if their pics don't even represent true Ameraucanas.. :)

I'm sorry...
when I first joined this site I posted pics of my EEs who had been sold as "Americanas" notice the misspelling of the breed. To learn that they were not the real thing. But EEs are wonderful in themselves. My little Red acts like a dog. Extremely bonded to me and has assigned herself the flock caretaker

she's always worried about everyone and is glued by my side when I'm with her.

Gee. They don't have a single Ameraucana in their pics at all. They took the time to write a history and say it was an APA recognized breed, but must have done zero research on them.

Oh I love my little chicks. 2 of them were assist so I got super attached lol. They are strong now and finally catching up in size. They were so tiny when they first hatched. :)
